Efficacy of Pentosan Polysulfate Treatment in Patients with Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome

Objectives: Pentosan Polysulfate (PPS) is the only oral treatment for interstitial cystitis (IC)-bladder pain syndrome (BPS) approved by World Health Organization. Self-evaluation scales can provide more objective results on pre- and post-treatment satisfaction. The aim of this study was to investigate effect pentosan polysulfate symptoms in IC-BPS patients.Methods: This included 37 adult male female patients with who reported pain, urinary urgency, polyurea, nocturia without tract infection a minimum six months prior were taking 300 mg/day polysulfate. Pre- symptoms, Interstitial Cystitis Symptom Index (ICSI) Scores, quality life (QoL) scores (1‒4), satisfaction conditions examined.Results: Following application inclusion exclusion criteria, mean age suitable 46.0±11.9 years 27% (10 individuals) male. Pre-treatment, ICSI scores, measures degree QoL increased significantly after (p<0.001). Adverse reaction detected two (5.4%) among treated polysulfate.Conclusions: Oral cystitis/bladder could achieve recovery increase score improve patient
